GRAHAM, TX – On July 1, 2015 Graham Regional Hospice underwent a survey from the Department of Aging and Disability. This survey is an unannounced inspection of the agency to determine if they are in compliance with all Conditions of Participation with the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid. These conditions are both Federal and State regulations.
The survey consists of reviewing all patient care documentation, Quality Assurance, Infection Control and Prevention, Complaints against the agency, Patient Emergency Preparedness, Hospice Bereavement program, Volunteer program, Employee Competencies and training as well interviews with patients and families; just to mention a few. If deficiencies are found in any of these areas the agency must show a plan of correction or possibly be fined.
Graham Regional Hospice was found to have NO deficiencies during this survey. Director of Graham Regional Hospice, Shelly Walls, R.N., states “This is a very difficult accomplishment with the ongoing changes to Medicare and Medicaid. I feel this shows that we are providing the best quality of care possible to our patients and families. I could not be more proud of the staff that we have at Graham Regional Hospice. We will strive to continue to provide high quality care and compassion that this community deserves.”
